Pampered Pet Center Policies

Effective March 1, 2008

The services we offer provide the utmost in personal attention to your pet, which will positively impact your pet’s happiness and well-being while in our care.  On the pages that follow, you will find a summary of our policies.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to come by our office,
call or email us.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

The Pampered Pet Center approaches each and every day with the goal to provide a safe and healthy environment for your pet.

However, this environment does expose your pet to the potential of injury that is beyond our control.  Dogs, like small children tend to play rough.  Your dog is exposed to the potential of being scratched or bit during play activity.

If your pet is injured the Pampered Pet Center will be responsible to make sure that your pet receives the most appropriate care, including but not limited to transportation to the nearest animal hospital or veterinarian for appropriate treatment.

If an untoward incident occurs and the resultant injury is not attributable to any negligence on the part of the Pampered Pet Center, its management, supervision or staff the pet parents are financially responsible for any professional fees (veterinarian services) that are incurred for your pet.

You may use accrued daycare hours to off set the costs associated with the above policy.

Hours of Operation

Daycare hours are from 6:00am – 8:00pm,
Monday through Sunday

After 8:00pm the hourly rate is $10.00 per hour (or any portion of an hour).  You may leave your dog with us as long as necessary.  And, as always we are still available 24 hours for your convenience.

Attendance

To attend the Pampered Pet Center, all pets must meet eligibility requirements.  Pet owners must complete the necessary forms.  All dogs must complete a temperament screening process.  Once your pet is accepted, they may come for short-term and long-term daycare stays.  Dogs who attend daycare are separated into play groups based on size, age and temperament.

Updated Records

Please notify our office if your pet has any recent illness, injuries or chronic problems ie: arthritis, fractures.  Also let us know if your pet has received any new vaccinations or has had recent surgery.  It is important that we keep your pet’s file current and up-to-date.

Non-Neutered / Non-Spayed Pets

All dogs that enjoy daycare activities in a ‘pack’ environment must be spayed or neutered.  We do accept non-altered pets into our facility, but we do need to limit the number of unaltered males we have at one time.  If your pet is not neutered, you must call ahead.  At no time is any female in heat allowed in the Center.  If any pet, altered or unaltered, shows any undue aggression towards other pets and staff, that pet will receive time-out.

Sick Pet

If your pet is sick, please take him/her to the vet.  We reserve the right to refuse a visit if your pet arrives sick or flea-infested.

Checking Your Pet In and Out

Please remember to sign your pet in and out of our facility.  We do ask you to tell us your estimated date/time of return for your pet.  This is so that we can offer your pet an extra potty break to be ready to go home.  If you will be picking up your pet more than 30 minutes late from your listed time, we require that you please call our office.

Designated Pet Parent Areas

Due to the protective nature of our pets, Pet Parents are not allowed in pet play areas.  Please honor the “Employees Only” signs throughout our facility.

Choke Chains / Pinch Collars

Absolutely no choke chains or pinch collars are allowed in the indoor or outdoor dog play areas.

Tags

In order to play, please make sure your pet has a flat collar with a tag with pet’s name and phone number.

Pet Park Play

Please notify our staff when you bring your dog into daycare if your dog can enjoy time in our park.  Our dog park is newly planted grass and some areas have not filled in quite yet.  Because of this, when it rains, there is mud.  Although dogs love to play in mud, some pet owners prefer their dog not to.

Reservations

Because we only can accept a limited number of pets, reservations are strongly encouraged at all times and are a must during the busy holiday seasons.  There is no way of guaranteeing your pet's place without a reservation.  It is never too early to make a reservation for your pet's stay with us, in fact, the sooner the better.  There are many pets that take advantage of our facility daily, and for the safety of your pet and our staff, we strongly recommend that you call ahead to make sure we have enough room for your pet.  We want everyone’s visit a safe and enjoyable one.

Dropping Pet Off Between 8pm and 7am

For the comfort of our overnight guests, we will not accept any drop-offs between the hours of 8pm and 7am without a prior reservation.

Overnight Guest Check-In

Overnight guests must be checked in before 7pm unless arrangements have been made in advance.

Deposits for Extended Daycare

For long-term stays, we ask for a deposit equal to one half of the total ESTIMATED fee at the time of reservation.  This deposit is required to hold your reservation.  This deposit can be made with a check or we can take a credit card number.  It does not have to be the card with which you pay.  All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.  This means that if you cancel or shorten your stay, your deposit will be forfeited.  Deposits can not be transferred to a future stay or to a different pet.

Cancellations / No-Shows

Cancellations occur for many reasons. Our cancellation policy is as follows, absolutely no exceptions!  We thank you for keeping this in mind when you make your reservations.

Canceling Long-Term Stays (Holiday):  If for any reason you must cancel and do not make your cancellation with at least 3 days prior notice, your deposit will be forfeited.  If for any reason, you need to delay the arrival of your pet for a holiday long-term stay, you must notify us with at least 24 hours prior notice or you will be charged from the original expected arrival.

Refunds

The Pampered Pet Center is unable to give cash refunds on any services.

Administering Pet Medication

The fee for dispensing medication is $1.50 per administration.  The pet parent is required to complete a separate instruction sheet for the treatment requested.  Required information:  Pet's Name, Name of Medication and strength, Dosage per day and schedule (let us know at drop off what doses have already been given that day).

Do not bring medications in glass containers.  Any medication to be dispensed must be in original package and clearly marked.  Please include only enough medication for the length of your pet’s stay.  Please alert us in advance if you know your pet will require medication.  The Pampered Pet Center reserves the right to refuse a pet for daycare or extended daycare if he/she is taking medication for a communicable illness.

Bringing Food / Treats / Toys for Your Pet / Bedding

All food and treats must be in sealed individual ZIP lock bags and labeled with your pet’s name.  Please package the correct feeding amount per individual bags per meal, PER pet. Do not combine feedings with instructions to "split" the food.  Bags must be zip lock.  DO NOT send tied bags, sandwich bags, glass containers, grocery bags or paper bags with rubber bands.  Our staff will bag the food you supply according to your directions for $1 per meal.  Please do not send rawhide or toys with your pet.  Pets tend to guard these items more than most.  We have toys here for your pet to play with.  Pet parents are encouraged to bring the pet’s bedding for overnight stays.

On-Leash

When in or around the Pampered Pet Center premises while you are arriving or departing, all dogs must be leashed and all cats must be crated.

Time-Out

Pets that show undue aggression towards other pets and staff will receive time-out.  Time-out is served in a separate area.  The pet will remain in time-out until the threat of the aggression has passed.  At that time, the pet will be allowed to re-join the play group.  In extreme cases, if a pet displays threatening behavior toward other pets and staff, we reserve the right to require immediate pick-up of the pet.

Three Strikes Rule

For the safety of everyone, there is a “Three Strikes Rule”.  Any pet that breaks these rules may be asked not to return to our Center.

1.        The pet puts people or other animals in danger

2.        Unprovoked / unpredictable aggressive behavior

3.        Other issues that can endanger the pet, other pets or our staff

Re-Assessment

Your dog’s temperament assessment is valid for ninety (90) days from the date administered.  Dogs need to attend the Pampered Pet Center at least once every three (3) months to maintain the validity of the temperament assessment.  This is necessary to retain daycare and extended daycare social skills and privileges.  We require all dogs to be re-assessed if their temperament assessment is not valid.   There is a fee for this re-assessment.
